HOSTED BY

OutLoud Dallas

ABOUT THE SUMMITABOUT THE SUMMIT

Why Here, Why Now?

Hearth Summit Dallas is a multi-day gathering that centers the power of creativity, connection, and community to reimagine how we support both youth and educators across our educational systems. Set across vibrant, community-driven venues and institutions, the summit invites participants into immersive experiences that blend performance, storytelling, dialogue, and collective action.

Over three days, artists, educators, youth leaders, and community builders will explore how emotional literacy, artistic expression, and justice-driven practices can shape more humanizing and equitable learning systems—from classrooms to cultural institutions. Whether grounding in nature, co-creating public art, or listening to youth voices shift the atmosphere, every moment of the summit is designed to deepen connection and spark meaningful transformation.

While locally rooted in Dallas, the summit is part of a broader global movement supported by The Wellbeing Project—celebrating community-led approaches to well-being and changemaking. Guided by local leadership, this summit uplifts the lived experiences, cultural traditions, and creative practices that define the city’s spirit—while contributing to a wider dialogue about how we care for ourselves, one another, and the systems we seek to change

Hearth Summit Dallas is more than a conference. It is a shared space to explore the art of well-being, purpose, and possibility—where imagination is honored, healing is centered, and the arts are catalysts for humanizing and reenvisioning education

          ABOUT THE SUMMITABOUT THE SUMMIT

          Fostering Intergenerational Wellbeing in Kenya

Axum will convene a three-day regional summit in Kilifi, Kenya, bringing together changemakers from across East Africa.

This year’s Hearth Summit Nairobi centers on how we might individually and collectively reimagine renewal and regeneration in the midst of a quiet crisis: burnout. We will explore how burnout shows up among social change leaders across a wide range of sectors and uncover pathways to renewal, collective care and long-term resilience.

          Express Your Interest

          CONTENT PILLARSCONTENT PILLARS

          Relational Wellbeing

The Relational Wellbeing track explores how we deal with trauma, grief, and relational pain with a focus on inner personal and collective healing as the foundation for sustainable impact and self-renewal. It also provides an opportunity to reimagine how we approach interpersonal, intergenerational, and communal restoration, as a way to alleviate the burden of burnout through collective care and shared life.

The Way We Work, Build & Create

At a time of polycrisis (climate change, conflict, and social unrest), made worse by fatigue and uncertainty, changemakers across sectors report deep exhaustion, with many operating in survival mode rather than thriving in purpose-driven work. Urgency has become our default, leaving little space for healing, reflection, or the inner work needed to sustain long-term impact. This track focuses on how we shift towards cultures of care, trust, and wellbeing for individuals, and in institutions and movements.

          Wellbeing in the Digital Age

With the increasing importance of digital literacy in human interaction, this track will explore how we connect and act as global and local citizens, and how we build care and community in an environment where smartphones, social media, AI, and constant connectivity shape how we live, work, and interact.

          Ecological Belonging

This track explores the relationship between nature and human flourishing. It honors how ecological restoration, food sovereignty, and intentional environmental planning and preservation, can also restore people, while building a sense of purpose as we collectively connect with the world around us.

          PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTSPROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

The summit is then organized around two major sub-themes, each anchoring two of the four core pillars. Each day begins with a plenary session that frames the discussions for the day and sets the context for the two pillars being explored.

          Schedule At A Glance

The Hearth Summit unfolds over three impactful days, each anchored in the summit’s core pillars. Day 1 explores Systems of Wellbeing, focusing on how work, environment, and societal structures impact collective health, burnout, and renewal. It invites a reimagining of how we work, build, and live in ways that sustain rather than deplete us. Day 2 shifts to Practices of Wellbeing through the lens of relationships and technology, exploring how connection, community, and meaning-making can foster resilience and healing in a polarized world. Day 3 continues the micro focus on tools and strategies for personal and collective transformation.

The three days provide a dynamic balance of reflection, learning, and connection to help changemakers understand and implement wellbeing systems and practices in their work and lives.

                Universidad Carolina

“The Hearth Summit Saltillo 2025 will be a transformative meeting space, designed to inspire, connect, and recognize the invaluable work of change agents, social project leaders, teachers, and students. Our general objective is to foster integral wellbeing through four key thematic pillars: ‘Hearth’ (emotional wellbeing), ‘Earth’ (ecological belonging), ‘Hear’ (professional development and continuous learning), and ‘Art’ (art for wellbeing).

We are hosting the Hearth Summit Saltillo to celebrate and to nurture the fundamental contribution of extraordinary changemakers that are sustaining our community. In these difficult times when the work of civil society and democratic institutions is being questioned, it is of great importance that we support the wellbeing, connection and sense of belonging between the leaders that are courageously and generously investing their lives on behalf of our people.”

                Journey Toward Collective Transformation

The Hearth Summit embraces a holistic approach to wellbeing and social change. This year includes a half-day trip to San Lorenzo Canyon, a natural treasure near Saltillo known for its cliffs, trails, and rock formations. Participants can explore its history and choose from a canyon tour, introspection space, or cacao and music experience. The Summit empowers individuals and communities to foster compassion, creativity, and connection.

                Arts & Experiences

Our immersive arts program centers body, emotion, and community—transforming creative expression into a shared language of healing, connection, and restoration, and offering experiences that deepen wellbeing and remind us of art’s power to mend what has been fragmented.

                Core Topics & Themes

Our program centers on core themes that nurture wellbeing and connection. These include mental health and emotional resilience at individual, organizational, and community levels; ecological belonging and our relationship with the Earth; professional growth through continuous learning; and artistic expressions that foster healing. Together, they explore how adversity shapes resilience and deepen our bonds with ourselves, others, and the planet.

                Knowledge for Transformative Action

Our intensive sessions dive deep into ecological belonging, neuroscience, individual and organizational wellbeing, the interconnectedness of all life, and the intersection of philanthropy and wellbeing—offering knowledge to inspire transformative action.

                  ABOUT THE SUMMITABOUT THE SUMMIT

                  Why Here, Why Now?

The regional Hearth Summit in Bhutan will be particularly enlightening for the social change sector due to Bhutan’s unique approach to development, known as Gross National Happiness (GNH). GNH emphasises the importance of holistic wellbeing over purely economic growth. Bhutan’s GNH framework encompasses several dimensions of wellbeing, including psychological wellbeing, health, education, time use, cultural diversity, good governance, community vitality, ecological diversity, and living standards.

As a GNH country, Bhutan provides an ideal setting for discussing and promoting wellbeing. Hearth Summit Bhutan will align with Bhutan’s national priorities and showcase Bhutan’s commitment to integrating wellbeing into development policies. It will also offer participants the opportunity to learn from Bhutan’s GNH experience and explore ways to implement similar approaches in their respective contexts.

“I did this as a small reminder to people that it´s necessary to take care of our health when leaving home and having contact with others, giving special importance to hygiene, but in addition we must eat well and keep good habits to strengthen our body, our internal defenses. This is not easy for everyone, many don´t have access to proper food, either for financial reasons or availability, but despite the difficulties we must try our best to take care of ourselves and stay healthy.”

We will hug, and look at each other in the eyes again, and when that day comes, our connection will be stronger than ever.”

In the current Covid-19 crisis thinking on the future just makes me experience much anxiety. As I currently see things, there’s no point to think about the future when a storm of uncertainty surrounds us and our lives are on hold. I think it’s time for us to stay mindful, concentrating on the present moment and tackle everyday problems in the calmest way possible. If our mind is overloaded, our capacity response will stay low which won’t allow us to progress. I suggest practicing yoga and meditation as a powerful tool to stay calm and coherent.

Capitalism tries to push the idea that we need to be productive. A lot of us feel like we need to constantly hustle and be on the grind to achieve our dreams. But giving yourself time to rest and take care of yourself is a gift that can empower you. It sounds counter-intuitive, but rest ultimately allows you to be in a stronger place to tackle whatever comes your way. But we are in a global pandemic right now. It’s necessary to rest and breathe and check in with yourself!

I used oil due to its association with portraits of important historical figures, adding gravity to the message in the poster. The idea is to insert the mask into attractive and aspirational images, representing the idea of wearing a mask as a positive thing. Each poster is based around the word breathe. Firstly – around the literal idea of being able to breathe freely by wearing a mask, secondly – allowing the planet the space to breathe by doing your part and thirdly – addressing the anxiety that comes with the unknown elements of the crisis.”

But I was also seeing so much hatred and blame. I wanted to remind people to withhold judgement, to remember that we are all in this together and that a little kindness goes a long way. Even wearing a mask and maintaining distance is an act of kindness and respect to those around us. I chose the rainbow and sunshine as a bright and positive backdrop to the message – the symbol of hope, of rays of sunlight which shine through in a dark storm. I hope this message can help people to stay positive, and that it encourages everyone to spread a little love in these difficult times.”

“This work riffs off the famous phrase of the Indian spiritual master Meher Baba, “Don’t worry; Be happy,” later converted into song by Bobby McFerrin in 1988. Its concise message of positivity has at times been misunderstood as careless or passive, but simplicity is powerful and mantras like these continue to be used because they encourage us during challenging times. While its difficult to be happy in the face of this crisis and the uncertainty it brings, together we can withstand the curve, flatten it, and recover- not through worry or panic, but through collaboration as a world community. With this work, I want to express a simple message for all of us: to resist fear-mongering messages and to focus on our innate human resilience.”

“The nearer a man comes to a calm mind, the closer he is to strength’ In my opinion, mental health is the most overlooked aspect of human nature. Seldom we give it the attention it deserves. No amount of wealth guarantees ones well being and current global scenario is a reflection of the same. At the moment, when the world is facing a, what seems to be an immortal, enemy, no amount of wealth or militia is enough to fight it. In these times, when people are forced to be at home, take a step back and reflect. As much effort is being put in maintaining and enhancing physical strength, try and focus on your inner peace as well. What makes you happy? A question, to which most of us have an answer to, but rarely do we act on it. We have always been too pre occupied with things and troubles, which now do not seem to matter as much. So let’s take a deep breathe, and focus on what is more important – YOU. Be the change you wish to see in the world. World peace, begins at Inner peace. Stay Positive. Stay Home. Stay Safe”

“Nature (the sun, trees, plants, animals, and so on) is the greatest source of therapy for humans that has ever existed. Everything in nature is meant to heal us. In this age of isolation, yes, the world needs messages of action, staying in separation from each other, and helping one another. But in addition to this, we all also need messages of calming hope. That everything will be ok. Get some sunshine on your face, and connect with your plants and pets inside your home. Nature will heal us.”

A Greater risk of everything in life is what our Medical People are willing to sacrifice fighting this life threatening pandemic. Most countries are not prepared and it comes with a prize . My art speaks everything lacking on our Health Care System . We may get through this soon but we need to provide them the liberty and support they need . NOTABLE RESEARCH FINDINGS

Only 2 studies out of 102 studies on teacher wellbeing conducted in the last 5 years were in low-income countries; this report offers findings from 2 additional low-income countries. People who study teacher wellbeing recommend improvements to the school atmosphere, but no studies of school-level or policy interventions were found.

                    Engagement:

When on the cusp of burnout, some teachers said that getting more deeply engaged in their work, for example by leading the school-wide IT team or serving on a district-wide committee, prevented burnout.

                    Successful students:

Teachers experienced wellbeing when they saw their students win awards or achieve their goals, and liked this as much or more than receiving awards themselves.

                    Relationships affect each other:

Teachers, principals, students, parents, and policymakers’ behaviors and attitudes intertwine. Improving one may help them all. Teacher wellbeing across these actors was related to respect, praise, motivation, and hard work.
