A Holistic Approach to Wellbeing and Social Change
Now is a powerful time to gather around wellbeing and social change in the United States. Across the country, people are coming together with a passion for building connected, resilient communities. Organizations like the Omega Institute and Harlem Wellness Center (HWC) are leading the way, drawing on decades of experience in transformative changemaking – Omega through programs and retreats that bridge inner work and outer impact, and HWC by nurturing healing and collective care across communities.
By hosting their second regional summit, these two co-creators of The Wellbeing Project demonstrate the power of intentional spaces that center wellbeing in our efforts for change. Whether in a rural retreat center or a vibrant neighborhood hub, these gatherings spark hope, creativity, and collaboration – key ingredients in creating a future grounded in wellbeing for all.

We are thrilled to bring back the Hearth Summit — a powerful collaboration between Harlem Wellness Center, Omega Institute, and The Wellbeing Project. This second gathering builds on our shared vision: to deepen the connection between wellbeing and social change, embracing interdependence as a path to transformation.
Together, we will explore new ways to advance individual and collective wellbeing, engage in contemplative and embodied practices, celebrate the arts, and reconnect with the natural world. Held on Omega’s beautiful campus in Rhinebeck, NY (90 miles north of Manhattan), this summit is an invitation to co-create a more just, vibrant, and interconnected future.

The Hearth Summit embraces a holistic approach to wellbeing and social change. After a successful first edition, the Summit returns to Rhinebeck, NY, with a renewed commitment to inspiring personal and collective transformation across the United States. At its core, the gathering aims to empower individuals, organizations, and communities to become active agents of positive change, fostering a culture of compassion, creativity, and connection.
Workshops & Experiences
The Hearth Summit offers a rich, immersive program featuring engaging discussions, thought-provoking talks, interactive workshops, and artistic experiences. Participants are invited to explore the deep connections between personal, organizational, social, and planetary wellbeing. Through moments of reflection, creative expression, and embodied practice, the programming sparks insight and connection, supporting transformative learning and visionary action.
Our Co Creators
Co-created by the Omega Institute and Harlem Wellness Center, the Summit brings together 150 changemakers from a wide range of sectors—including the arts, education, business, government, and nonprofit fields. This intentional diversity encourages cross-sector collaboration and the exchange of ideas that deepen impact. Together, these leaders form a vibrant, multi-disciplinary community united by a shared commitment to wellbeing and justice.
An Environment for Transformation
Set on Omega’s 250-acre campus in the heart of New York’s Hudson Valley, the Summit takes place in an environment of natural beauty and tranquility. This peaceful setting offers space for rest, renewal, and inspiration. As we gather around the hearth—both as a symbol and as a lived experience—we deepen our connection to the heart, to the earth, and to each other. The land itself becomes a partner in the work, supporting our collective journey toward wellbeing and change.

Kimberly Marie Ashby is a Black and Native American, queer, woman artist, activist, and doctoral candidate in counseling psychology. Kimberly creates hand-cut collages through an Afrofuturist lens, using found materials to reflect marginalized people’s ability to make marvels out of the scraps they are given. Kimberly created this hand-cut collage To express the importance of self-care, particularly for Black and Brown people in the US who are being disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.

Capitalism tries to push the idea that we need to be productive. A lot of us feel like we need to constantly hustle and be on the grind to achieve our dreams. But giving yourself time to rest and take care of yourself is a gift that can empower you. It sounds counter-intuitive, but rest ultimately allows you to be in a stronger place to tackle whatever comes your way. But we are in a global pandemic right now. It’s necessary to rest and breathe and check in with yourself!

But I was also seeing so much hatred and blame. I wanted to remind people to withhold judgement, to remember that we are all in this together and that a little kindness goes a long way. Even wearing a mask and maintaining distance is an act of kindness and respect to those around us. I chose the rainbow and sunshine as a bright and positive backdrop to the message – the symbol of hope, of rays of sunlight which shine through in a dark storm. “This work riffs off the famous phrase of the Indian spiritual master Meher Baba, “Don’t worry; Be happy,” later converted into song by Bobby McFerrin in 1988. Its concise message of positivity has at times been misunderstood as careless or passive, but simplicity is powerful and mantras like these continue to be used because they encourage us during challenging times. While its difficult to be happy in the face of this crisis and the uncertainty it brings, together we can withstand the curve, flatten it, and recover- not through worry or panic, but through collaboration as a world community. With this work, I want to express a simple message for all of us: to resist fear-mongering messages and to focus on our innate human resilience.”

A Greater risk of everything in life is what our Medical People are willing to sacrifice fighting this life threatening pandemic. Most countries are not prepared and it comes with a prize . My art speaks everything lacking on our Health Care System . We may get through this soon but we need to provide them the liberty and support they need . In response to COVID-19, The Wellbeing Project, in collaboration with Amplifier Art launched a campaign with top art curators and public-health advisors from around the world, looking for symbols that promote mental health, wellbeing and social change work in this new age.
Kimberly Marie Ashby is a Black and Native American, queer, woman artist, activist, and doctoral candidate in counseling psychology. Kimberly creates hand-cut collages through an Afrofuturist lens, using found materials to reflect marginalized people’s ability to make marvels out of the scraps they are given. Kimberly created this hand-cut collage To express the importance of self-care, particularly for Black and Brown people in the US who are being disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.
