HOW TO GET TO LJUBLJANA?
Ljubljana is located at the intersection of major European transportation routes, half way between Vienna and Venice. It is easily reached by plane. For attendees from outside Europe there’s always at least one stop over, as there is not a direct flight. Ljubljana Jože Pučnik International Airport, also known by its previous name Brnik Airport, is located 24 km (20 minutes by road), northwest of Ljubljana city center.
Facilities include: restaurants, cafes, and currency exchange. Most staff speak a good level of English.
TRANSFERS TO LJUBLJANA FROM THE AIRPORT
To get to the city center from the airport you may take:
- Shuttle transfers: the shuttle transfers need to be booked in advance. Some companies you can book with are: GoOpti, Nomago. Please read the section below, “GoOpti Booking Instructions”, for further details on how to book a transfer with GoOpti.
- Regular bus route: A regular bus route connects Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport and Ljubljana Central Bus Station (bus stop no. 28), which is located walking distance to the Hearth Summit main venues and most of the hotels. The public bus service to and from Ljubljana bus station usually runs every hour. A one-way bus ride from Ljubljana International Airport to the city center costs €4.10. On most weekdays there is a bus every hour from 5:00 to 20:00.
As this bus is public transport, and not an airport shuttle, it stops at many stations on its way to the main station. Travel time for this 31 km route is 50 minutes. - Private transfer: private taxi services are available in front of the airport building, however, we strongly suggest that you book your transport in advance with a shuttle transfer as regular price rates are not guaranteed at the airport.
- Rent-a-car: consult the list of rent-a-car service providers at the airport or before your arrival.

Ljubljana is located at the crossroads of Slovenia’s most important road routes. Motorway access from any of the neighboring countries is very easy.
Road tax vignettes:
Road tax vignettes must be purchased for the use of Slovenian motorways, including the Ljubljana bypass. The roads where the vignette is required are marked by special vignette signs. Vignettes can be purchased at petrol stations located in the border areas of Slovenia’s neighboring countries, post offices and most newspaper kiosks in Slovenia, and at branch offices of the Automobile Association of Slovenia (AMZS) and other automobile clubs.

If you prefer to get to Ljubljana, directly on your own bike, here is a paid app from Google, called Bikemap: Cycling Tracker & GPS, where you can check the best routes for your trip.
If you are traveling to Ljubljana by train or by bus, you can take your bicycle with you on selected international train lines and on selected bus lines.
Once you arrive in Ljubljana, you won’t have any problem getting around by bike, as Ljubljana is one of the most cycling-friendly cities in the world.

The average temperatures for the month of June in Ljubljana range from 12°C to 25°C. (51,8°F / 77°F).
Daylight hours are around 15.5 h in the month of June.
The month with the most wet days in Ljubljana is June, with an average of 10.6 days with at least 110 millimeters of precipitation.
At the Summit, people tend to dress in casual and comfortable clothing. This is the recommended attire as attendees will be walking and attending various outdoor activities and moving around throughout the day.
As per the rain forecast, we also recommended bringing a raincoat or an umbrella.
