Mindsets and human nature: Promoting change in the Middle East, the schoolyard, the racial divide, and willpower. American Psychologist, 67, 614-622. Dweck, C.S. (2012).

This article presents several studies centred around the nature versus nurture debate and human capacity to adapt, change and grow. Different states of mindsets were studied in relation to various adverse situations (conflict in the Middle East, race relations and willpower). The findings conclude that an emphasis on growth of mindset increases intellectual achievement, can advance conflict resolution, decrease chronic aggression, increase willpower and foster race relations. This research opens new doors to understand the dynamics of changing human nature so people can best fill their potential and live more positively.
